Travertine Gourd Pendant Light — carved stone, walnut cap, warm downward glow. A single piece of yellow travertine — carved into a double-sphere gourd form, the upper sphere smaller and rounded, the lower wider and open at the base — suspended by a matte black cord with a small turned walnut cap at the junction. The travertine’s pores, fossils, and amber tonal variation are visible across the whole surface; when the lamp is lit, the stone becomes semi-translucent where the material is thinnest, and the natural voids glow as warm amber points of light through the stone. Light exits downward through the open base, directed and focused. A compact, singular object for bedside tables, kitchen islands, and reading corners. See It In Action Natural Stone Warmth — Travertine Lamp Series Yellow Travertine — formed by nature, unrepeatable by craft Yellow travertine is a sedimentary limestone formed over millennia through mineral-rich spring deposits. The porous cavities, fossil inclusions, amber veins, and surface colour are determined entirely by geological conditions. Every Gourd pendant will differ from the display images and from every other piece. This is the inherent character of natural stone. Natural pores may glow when lit — this is intentional and beautiful Travertine is defined by its natural pores formed over geological time. When the lamp is lit, these natural voids may appear as warm glowing spots or “pinpoints” where light shines through the thinnest sections of stone. This effect is a direct expression of the stone’s authentic character — it confirms you have a genuine natural material, not a cast replica. It is not structural damage and is not a quality defect. Travertine Pore & Vein Reference Tap to enlarge — natural pore and vein reference. Your piece will differ. Features Carved Travertine Gourd Double-sphere stone form — porous, fossil-textured, singular. No two alike. Walnut Wood Cap Turned walnut sphere at the cord junction — warm material contrast, handcraft detail. Downward Directed Glow Open base directs warm light downward — focused accent for surfaces below. Size Tap to enlarge Single size ∅ 4.7″ × H 5.5″ Dia 12 cm × H 14 cm Materials: Yellow Travertine, Walnut Wood Cord: Matte black — 59″ adjustable, extendable on request Bulb & Light Source E26 (US/CA) or E27 (EU/AU) — bulb not included Compatible with LED and Edison filament bulbs. A warm-white LED at 2700–3000 K is strongly recommended — the warm tone enhances the amber character of the travertine and deepens the pore-glow effect where light passes through the thinnest sections of stone. A small candle-tip or globe E26/E27 LED at 4–6W is appropriate for the compact ∅ 12 cm shade. The open base directs light primarily downward — this lamp functions best as accent or task lighting rather than room-filling ambient light. Cluster two or three at different drop heights for a kitchen island At ∅ 12 cm the Gourd is a compact accent pendant. Clustered in pairs or threes at varied drop heights above a kitchen island or dining table, the stone forms compose a sculptural overhead arrangement where no two pieces look identical — each stone’s unique pore pattern and tonal variation becomes a feature rather than a coincidence. Not a defect. Certification North America · EU · AU · Saudi Arabia Downloads Spec Sheet Frequently Asked Questions The stone has spots that glow when the lamp is on. Is this normal? Yes — this is expected and is a signature quality of natural travertine. Travertine stone is formed with natural pores and voids throughout its structure. Where the carved stone wall is thinnest at these voids, light from the bulb passes through as a warm, glowing point — like light through paper. This effect is called the “pore glow” and is used deliberately to demonstrate the authenticity of the natural stone. It is not cracking, not structural damage, and not a quality defect. Each lamp will have a different pore distribution, so the glow pattern is unique to your piece. Will my Gourd pendant look like the product photos? The form — the double-sphere gourd silhouette, the walnut cap, the black cord — will match the photographs. The stone surface character — its specific pore distribution, amber tonal variation, and fossil inclusions — will differ. Natural travertine cannot be standardised. Your piece will be its own, a direct expression of the geological conditions that formed the specific block of stone it was carved from. Is this lamp bright enough to light a room? No — the Travertine Gourd is an accent and task light, not a primary room light. The open base directs light downward onto the surface below (bedside table, kitchen island, desk) with limited spread to the sides and very little upward light. For a reading nook, bedside, or kitchen worktop, a single pendant at 4–6W is well-suited. For a dining table or living room, multiple pendants or a combination with other room lighting is needed. Is the Travertine Gourd certified for North America and Europe? Yes. It holds certifications compatible with North America, Saudi Arabia, Europe, and Australia and operates on AC 110–240V worldwide.
