You can remove chain links to shorten the drop, so it works with standard and slightly higher ceilings. Is the glass real glass, and how is it finished? Yes, the shades are frosted white glass — a scalloped shell-shaped bowl, with floral-bud shades on the larger size. The frosting diffuses the light to a soft, even glow and hides the bulbs.
