The Marimekko Unikko Blanket in charocal and off white is a beautiful wool and cotton blend blanket featuring classic fringing at the ends. Decorated with the classic monochrome Marimekko Unikko pattern, the blanket has two different sides, with the backside being a clever colour negative of the front. This throw blanket will add a touch of interest to any room. This Marimekko blanket was designed to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Finland's independence. Approximate dimensions | 130cm x 180cm Material | 60% Wool + 40% Organic Cotton The Unikko pattern came about in 1964 after Armi Ratia, the founder of Marimekko, had announced in public that no floral fabrics are designed at Marimekko. Maija Isola did not accept rules or restrictions and designed in protest a complete collection of bold floral patterns: Unikko, a Finnish word that means poppy. Today, Unikko is one of Marimekko's best-known patterns and recognized around the world
