About the black travertine — genuine natural stone with a matte black surface finish The shade of this pendant is made from genuine travertine stone, hand-carved into its sculpted geometric form. To create a deep, even black aesthetic, the stone surface is finished with a matte black coating — rather than left in its natural off-white state. This is an intentional design choice: the weight, density, and natural pore structure are preserved, while the surface colour is controlled. The pores and organic variations visible in each piece are authentic expressions of the stone — no two are identical. Natural travertine — formed by geological processes Travertine is formed in the natural environment through thousands of years of complex physical and chemical processes.
