📘 How the premium is estimated

• Premium = Cargo Value (AUD) × base rate × commodity multiplier × transport-mode multiplier × packaging multiplier (+ war/strikes surcharge if selected). Subject to a minimum premium.
• Insured amount defaults to 110% of cargo value (CIF + 10%) per market practice — this covers freight, duty, and lost-profit recovery.
• Coverage tiers follow the Institute Cargo Clauses (ICC A/B/C). ICC A is “all risks”; ICC C is named perils only.
• ⚠ Lithium batteries, used goods, second-hand machinery, and temperature-sensitive cargo often require special clauses or are excluded — declare them upfront.
• War & Strikes (W&SRCC) cover is mandatory for many high-risk lanes; surcharge is added on top of the base premium.
• Indicative only. Binding cover requires underwriter review of commodity, packaging, route, and claims history.
